The role of the Research and Graduate Studies Office (RAGSO) is to help the University achieve its strategic goals in research and research training by: providing advice; providing high quality administrative support; collecting, monitoring, analysing and presenting in summary form, data on the University's research performance; and coordinating and delivering training for researchers and research supervisors, and higher degree by research students. Staff in the RAGSO report directly to the Director of the Institute for Regional and Rural Research and Innovation. The Director and the Dean of Graduate Studies report to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. In the short to medium term, the RAGSO will provide: High quality training and professional development for researchers, research supervisors and higher degree by research students; An integrated data management and reporting system; A more efficient, effective and coordinated system for assessing, monitoring, auditing and facilitating the ethical conduct of research involving humans and animals; and, A supportive, learning environment for its staff. The RAGSO is the gateway to the following administration programs: Higher Degree by Research Administration Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) Animal Ethics Committee (AEC) Institutional BioSafety Committee (IBC) Evaluation of teaching and research programs (SET, SEU and SEPP) Annual Research Conference
